Stick on moxa is convenient for applying moxa to a number of points at the same time, the moxa cylinder is attached to a base with a sticky bottom that attaches to the skin surface. Once attached the moxa is lit and the patient asked to inform the practitioner when they feel the heat, for supplementing applications, the moxa is removed shortly after the patient feels the heat, for draining applications it is left for a little longer to cause a slight stinging. Care should be taken to not leave it on until completely burnt as this will cause blistering of the skin
